BRIAN B. TAN

Geotechnical Engineer

I  am a licensed Civil Engineer specializing in Geotechnical Engineering.  I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.  After the board exam, I went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for my Masters Degree.  I was fortunate enough to be offered the MIT Presidential Fellowship and Arnold Schoettler Fellowship.  My research focused on characterizing hydrate-saturated soils from Hydrate Ridge in the Cascadia Continental Margin.

Since moving back to the Philippines in 2004, I have trained and been under the guidance of Dr. Salvador Reyes, the foremost geotechnical engineering expert in the Philippines today. In order to further enhance my Geotechnical Engineering knowledge, I have been taking my Doctorate at the University of the Philippines-Diliman and have started working  on my dissertation under the guidance of Dr. Mark Zarco.
